WHAT IS ACT?
Acceptance and Commitment Training is all about accepting what is out of your personal control, while committing to action that will improve your quality of life.
The aim of ACT is to help people create a rich, full and meaningful life, while effectively dealing with the stress and pain that life inevitably brings. ACT (pronounce: 'act') does this by teaching you skills to handle your painful thoughts and feelings effectively – in such a way that they have much less impact and influence over you. These are also known as mindfulness skills. By helping you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you, in other words by discovering your values & dreams, you'll be able to create direction in your life. You'll use your values to guide, inspire and motivate you to change your life for the better and finally follow your dreams. In my coaching I apply ACT-techniques that are very accessible, fun and that add a hands-on dimension to the whole process. Mindfulness activities are also used to create a higher sense of awareness of what's going on inside your mind & body. ACT helps you get out of your mind, into your life & kickstart your dreams.
